IHC Studio
Founded in 2012 by filmmaker Lucas Estevan Soares, IHC Studio is a Brazilian film production and distribution company with operations in both Brazil and the United States, dedicated to creating original films and content with strong popular appeal, distinctive aesthetics, and commercial potential.
Over more than a decade, IHC has built a diverse catalog spanning music projects, documentaries, and branded content. In 2017, the company expanded internationally and opened its U.S. office.
Between 2019 and 2021, IHC produced its first feature film, Neon Heart, winner of awards in Brazil, Europe, and the United States; released commercially across Brazil in 2023 and recognized at Cannes as a pioneer of the “New Popular Brazilian Cinema.”
Since 2021, the company has also operated its own distribution arm. Today, IHC leverages its international experience, creative independence, and a robust pipeline of new IPs to drive the studio’s next phase of expansion.
Success Story
Released in theaters in 2023, Neon Heart is a Brazilian action-drama feature film written, directed and starred by Lucas Estevan Soares, and produced by Rhaissa Gonçalves. The film was entirely self-financed by the parters of IHC, without public incentives, and independently distributed — establishing a fully integrated production model, from development to commercial release.
The film had its international premiere in Houston (USA), screened at festivals across Europe and Asia, and entered the Brazilian theatrical circuit in more than 100 screens, including Cinemark, UCI, Cinesystem and Cinépolis. It was also screened in Argentina and Uruguay, and it was awarded in United States, Europe and Brazil. It has its European première at the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, where it was recognized by critics as an example of the New Popular Brazilian Cinema.
More than a critical and audience success, Neon Heart became a symbol of creative independence and technical innovation, standing as the first Brazilian film finalizes in Dolby Atmos 9.1. Its fully independent production — spanning development, production, post-production and in-house distribution — serves as a proof of operational excellence and lays the foundation for the expansion of its universe in the upcoming spin-off, Neon Heart X.
The director

Lucas Estevan Soares is the creative and strategic engine behind IHC — founder, director, and the studio’s principal intellectual force.
Born in Curitiba, he is one of the few filmmakers from Paraná to take a feature film to the Cannes Film Festival, solidifying his presence among the emerging voices of contemporary Brazilian cinema.
At age 21, he traveled through 27 countries making independent cinema and released Independent Roads (a collection of seven short films) in festivals and showcases across Europe, Africa, and Latin America — an experience that shaped his ability to create high-impact work with minimal resources.
In 2012, he founded IHC in Curitiba; in 2017, he opened the company’s Miami branch; in 2019, he wrote, directed and starred in his first feature, Neon Heart, released theatrically in 2023 and recognized in Cannes as a key work of the New Popular Brazilian Cinema. He is also an entrepreneur and investor in the industry — a rare case of someone who conceives, structures and delivers the full vision of a studio.
